WWC#39: Dirty & Peek-a-boo

Tink has once again brought us the Weekly Words Challenge, where we have been assigned to photographically examine the words DIRTY and PEEK-A-BOO.  In addition, I am playing fair by highlighting each of my boys.  Because I wouldn’t want to be accused of playing favorites.

Toddlers and preschoolers are perfect for this assignment!! 
(I can hardly wait to see what Moo comes up with this week!)
But what to do when you don’t have any of these munchkins handy at your house?  Well, in my case, it’s off to the archives!  Most of these are digital photos of 11- or 12- year-old pictures, which means I sacrificed quality for content. 
Get over it. I can live with it and hope you can, too.

  CAMPING BOYS ARE ALWAYS DIRTY

This photo of SnakeMaster (on right) and his two young cousins was taken 2 years ago on an extended family camping trip.  They were thoroughly dirty by 10 a.m. every day.

This is Humorous-Juniorous as a toddler, and it is one of my favorite pictures of him.  Unfortunately, a picture of a picture just isn’t as good as the original, so you’ll just have to trust me when I say that it looks so much better in person. 

So here’s the backstory:
H-J ist mein deutsches Baby.  Er war in Deutschland geboren.
While I was sitting on the neighbor’s front patio, sipping an evening beer and chatting in a combination of English and German, H-J was playing at the little play-park (Spielplatz) across the walkway.   I had a peek-a-boo view of him playing in the tall grass, so I knew where he was and that he was safe.  What I could not see was what was entertaining him so well…
…until I walked on over.  Egads!!  My German neighbor kindly watched over my preschoolers while I carried H-J upstairs to the bathtub, set him in fully clothed, and turned on the shower.   And um…he didn’t like it.  Not the showering with his clothes on and definitely not the way I carried him…with my hands under his armpits and holding my arms straight out ahead of me.  I tell you, the child was FILTHY DIRTY!  But I was laughing the entire time.  🙂
This just proves that Benjamin Franklin was right when he said, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” 

 CAT BLOGGING ALERT!!

After last week, I knew I just had to post an animal picture.  It was the thing to do, and I failed to do it!  Someone forgot to send me the memo, or maybe it was because I couldn’t catch the cat.  Anyhoo, she wouldn’t have put up with me taking a photo with her dangling in the air.  Heck, me dangling her in the air? THAT would have taken both hands, so forget the camera!  Wonder what I’m talking about?  Just check out this entry and this entry. 

See?  My cat doesn’t do that sort of modeling. 
Notice how I still managed to make this an official dirty and peek-a-boo entry, with the proof that I hate to weed  garden space behind the cat ignoring me in her own form of peek-a-boo. 

 And just in case you need one more “cat fix” in your day, here is a video that’s been making the rounds.  You may have already seen it (I have, several times) but I’m still reveling in my new-found ability to post videos on my blog!  haha, I’m such a nerd.
