The good news: the power came back on at dawn.
The bad news: it went out at 4:40 yesterday afternoon.
I’m considering purchasing a noisy generator this weekend.
It can’t be any worse than this, can it?
I can imagine a generator would pay for itself if it kept the fridge and freezer on?
I’m embarrassed to admit we actually have a generator (Mr. Fix-it is a total gadget guy). During a 3 hour black out he ran it–the next day I heard neighbors wondering who the hell was running a generator?!
Sadly, SuperDad has already figured out we would have to use a generator 4 times where we save contents of fridge & freezer before it would pay for itself. Scenario unlikely, and we hate the sound & smell of a gas-powered gadget, so it’s a no-go. Sometimes I wish SD liked gadgets more than he does (tools, YES! gadgets, not so much). It didn’t help that he is a data analyst by profession, so he laid it all out in black-and-white.
