Ongoing Debate

2009-january-inauguration-day-002On Saturday afternoon, in the course of 2 hours, I talked myself into getting a dog (thank you, Tamra and the local lab rescue link!) and then I talked myself out of getting a dog. I must be really good at debating… at least, when I am debating myself!

In the car on the way home from church on Sunday, H-J was quizzing me about my methodology. Then SuperDad spoke up.

Why not get a dog?

My husband gave voice to thought —

“Haiku for poo-poo”

The haiku itself is mine; quote belongs to SuperDad — and yes, I laughed the rest of the way home!

  1. That’s cute!

So what are you going to name the dog? Are you going to get a girl or a boy? I’m so excited for you!

  2. Why not get a dog?

    Pleading children want to know.

    Mom answers, “Achoo!”

  3. Do you not read my stories of doggy woe????? Crazy woman. Ahhh well, they are always happy to see you.

  4. OH KC! You would love having a lab!

  5. Oh, go ahead and get a dog! You can train them to poo in one area only and the boys are of the right age to pick up after him/her and they are good for teaching responsibility.

  6. Are you sure you want to add another “child” to your already crazy schedule? WWCD? (What Would Cleo Do)

  7. A dog is more than the sum of its poo–get a dog!

  8. Love it!

Is a cat out of the question? They are easier! : )

  9. Thanks for dropping by my blog! I LOVE meeting new people!

  10. I LOVE dogs, but for now I borrow my neighbours dog(s) when I feel the need to get my own. Works for me…

  11. I’m not sure how the Tonka Unit would feel about another dog on his turf. He isn’t always the friendliest with other poochies.

  12. For me, weekends with Benny turns out to be the perfect way to have a dog. It’s kind of like other people’s kidlets – lovely to have around but you can send them home when you’re don. 😉
