I needed something light-hearted today

Just checking to see if you are at your  computer

Yep,  you are! So, keep scrolling for Bits of  Wisdom

Actually Amoeba and I discuussed this just two nights ago at the dinner table. I wondered if all of these fat cells continually demanding to be fed would ever allow me to successfully lose weight and keep it off. I explained my concern by sharing that tidbit about fat cells living forever.

He said the truth of this is misleading. As we lose weight we will shed fat cells. When we gain weight, we force cells that don’t normally store fat to do so — they will be happy to return to performing their regular fat-free functions. Also, we have created extra fat cells which our body will eliminate when they are no longer required — but it takes time and we do have to contend with them clamoring to be fed in the meantime.

I also thought that feelings of hunger when I am not really hungry were primarily caused my lack of hydration. Amoeba tells me that it is can also be caused by fat cells feeling they were short changed. From now on when water does not assuage my hunger cravings and I know I have been adequately fed, I am going to rejoice in the death cries of my fat cells!

    • Quilly, that is good news about the shedding of fat cells. And I love this: “I am going to rejoice in the death cries of my fat cells!”
