SuperDad has the day off, and what a beautiful day it is! This morning he parked his donkey (that’s what he calls his Honda Element) near a river access and then we drove upriver about 3 miles to put in the raft.
Yes, that is a cat food tub; no, they are not taking cat food! It’s where they are storing provisions to keep them dry.
SuperDad and SnakeMaster will enjoy a few hours floating down the river today.
Hopefully they will be home before supper!
This is where they will end their trip.

I enjoyed a lovely drive along the river and took this video to share:
Sorry about the road noise — I had the windows open on this beautiful summer day!
Lovely scenery but I would have rather been in the raft than the car …. Still, it is good that father and son had some alone bonding time.
All that water around me for 4 hours would make me need to pee! π
What a great trip that is going to be. And I loved the video my friend. π Beautiful country of there and what a way to start the 4th of July weekend π Have a good one. I can tell you like country music huh? At least that’s what I think I’m hearing π
Thom, I like all kinds of music. Today, on that road, country music was perfect. I wanted to start the video even earlier, but the road there was really narrow and I had a few white knuckle moments before I pulled over to get the camera out.
The music was perfect! Cute town and such smooth roads, even if the don’t have much for shoulders. Hope the guys enjoyed their river trip.
LOL, those were some pretty significant shoulders! You should have seen the earlier part of the drive. I didn’t dare try to film it. I was holding my breath that there would be no oncoming traffic!
KC – I’m with you on the peeing part… But it must have been a nice day for father and son.
They did have a wonderful time, although it would have been nice if the river had been higher. It was about a 4-hour float.
Yes! I love driving around videos. Always fun and interesting.
I’ll try to get some more. There are some great drives in this area.
You live in the most beautiful part of the world!
Coming from you, Mary, that is quite a compliment! I’d say you have given us some stiff competition in that department.
Loved the video and the music too! π
How nice of hubby to have some alone time with his son.
Happy 4th of July!!
Was the rafting good? Sometimes it doesn’t work out so well when the river is low. I remember one particularly disappointing rafting expedition on the Shenandoah – the kids kept getting grounded on rocks.
Oh I do love a cruise down a scenic road as you well know!! Lovely pics. Must be nice eh!!
That looks like a wonderful way to spend a day.
