I love marching bands, too! I’m remembering younger son marching and, then as a senior, directing the OHS band as Drum Major.
Wonderful memories!
Playing the clarinet while marching takes some getting used to, that’s why I switched to trumpet 😉 Of course, we only did the occasional parade, no football games. It was also the first time to try a marching band and in Jr. H.S. and was extra-curricular. All in all a rather poor comparison to what your son does I am sure.

Amoeba is at a football game right now participating in the marching band. Our high school is too small and many local musicians of all ages fill in the blanks when it is time for games, parades, and such.
