We shared a meal, scrapbooked our trip to NYC, had an old-fashioned pajama party… and tried to not think about the fact that 2 of us are moving away this summer.
It had been freezing cold in New York City but our toes were as warm as our memories.

It sounds like you had a wonderful, memory making time. Don’t let yourself get too sad, though. You travel across the country now to visit your friends here. There is no reason you can’t travel across the country to visit your friends there. Moving doesn’t necessarily mean good-bye — although it might mean fewer spontaneous trips.
